Valentine’s Day is tomorrow and love is everywhere.
Unfortunately, love isn’t the only thing going around. The Centers for Disease Control reported late last year that cases of sexually-transmitted diseases were on the rise in the United States. Reported cases of the most infectious type of syphilis have jumped 15% since 2013 while cases of gonorrhea have increased 5% to 110 people in every 100,000.
Yeah, I know it’s a crap way to welcome Cupid’s big day but this post needed to be written.
Benjamin Franklin had syphilis, so did Al Capone. JFK didn’t have syphilis but is there any surprise he had a STD? A long list of celebrities have come out in advertisements admitting they have herpes and other STDs.
Getting an STD is nothing to be ashamed of…not getting tested or treated could ruin your life.
